TOPIC: Custom strings are not working

Custom strings are not working 1 year, 9 months ago #237

  • ktimes
Hi there,
I am using this module for showing the date on my website (ktimes.org/karenni). I've entered Karenni text in the configuration for Sunday, Monday, etc. but it's still showing up as English text. Help?

Thanks,
KTimes

I am unable to reproduce this. Do you still have this problem?

If so what version of PHP are you using and what OS? Do you have any other settings changed from default?

Thanks for the quick response!

I can still reproduce the problem locally. It's weird, I see the translated text quickly flash up at the beginning, and then it's replaced with the English text. See ktimes.org/karenni.

I've seen this happen in both IE and Firefox (using Windows 7). The website is hosted at HostGator.com, PHP version is 5.2.5, OS is linux CentOS.

Thanks,
KTimes

I am working on a new version that will be released very soon. I think it will work mostly ok for now. I have some TODO items left though but maybe it will do what you want so please test and see what you think. In a few minutes I will reply and attach a new version with some improvements and completely rewritten. This is not the final version but more like a beta. Hopefully it will fix whatever problem you are experiencing because it does things completely differently.

Well that took a little longer than expected but I think it should work ok.

Please try this beta and see if your problem is fixed.

Be sure to back up your params and configure the params because they are all new and probably have to be saved again to work properly.

Please report any bugs you might encounter.

Thanks =)

Ryan

Thanks, that fixed the localization problems we were seeing. One more issue though, there's no way to localize the year right now. Can you provide a way where we can give you the text for 0, 1, 2, etc. and you use those strings instead of the English digits?

Thanks for the speedy responses!
